Laundry Room Change Up

Image
Happy Sunday!!!  While I've been blowing you up with the Florida condo bathroom renos, I've secretly been home working on my own house.  Again- the condo bathrooms were a hired out job, I am NOT the one doing those.  I'm just showing you pictures of the condo as it's happening.  That is all my Aunt. But I was down there visiting her for a few weeks while this was happening so I though you'd all like to see it.   But back to mi casa.  Once I finished the upstairs slat wall, I knew what project I would be starting on next.  I was just waiting for the main items to go on-sale.  Which they didn't. So I went to FL for like, the entire month of Feb it seems.  When I came back and the items STILL weren't on-sale, I just bit the bullet and purchased.   You may have seen my sketch that I wanted to do the laundry room as my next project if you follow me on FB.   Back story of the this room is that when I enter my house, I...

Feature Wall in the Upstairs Living Room

Happy Sunday!  Who is ready for some football?!?!  I just finished up the latest project so I could starting getting food prepped for the two games today- cuz let's be honest it's ALL ABOUT THE FOOD.   This project was super quick and easy and gives just a little bit of something on a very blank wall.  This wall to be exact.   It's the back wall in the upstairs living room.  I had planned to make another wood art piece for this wall.  But the wall is 12' wide and the piece would have to be huge in order to "fit" the wall and not look weird.  Which also means it would be heavy as a mofo.  I still have plans for the wood art, it'll just go on another wall up there.   A friend got me following one of her friends on Insta- @athomewithmadeline and she is also a DIY female homeowner who gets shit done.  I saw one of her posts where she did a simple wood wall treatment in her living room and it made a huge difference. ...

New Ottoman for the Upstairs Living Room

Hello fuckers! It dawned on me last week that it's been more than two months since I posted about the upstairs living room and that none of the things I said I was going to do were even started.  Oops.  It's been crazy busy at work- averaging about 80 hours a week the last few weeks and I've literally come home to eat and sleep.  But this past weekend I finally had the entire weekend to myself, no events.  You know what that meant! Time to build something! About 2 months ago, maybe longer, I went in search of fabric for the coffee table/ottoman/bench/foot rest that I was going to build.  I was looking for something white and black with a print and stumbled upon an Ikat print from Walmart, of all places, that I thought would look really good as the top of the table.  I ordered two yards and it has sat in my linen closet since.  Insert face palm emoji.   Well I finally took it out of there last week and tossed it onto the rug to see how well th...
