Quick Chair Update

Image
Guys- super easy chair update coming at ya!  Do you remember this chair? I originally purchased it back in 2011 from a local consignment store for $45.  It went from the original above color to this.... These pictures make the chair super bright blue- but it really was a deep teal color.  But whatevs.  It's no longer that color! There is this little nook going from the kitchen to the living room in the condo.  To me, it's a perfect spot for a chair, little table with a mirror and a basket for shoes.  I thought this chair would fit perfectly in there.  Except the chair "as is" unfortunately is not the look we are going for.  Now I just need to brush up on my sewing skills again for the pillow.  I'm just saying- there will be tassels.  TASSELS! Once I got the paint and got home and changed, there was some sanding I needed to do since there were a few areas where the paint was chipping off.  It's not good to have painted furniture sitting

Wood Art

Guys- I have been obsessing lately for various pieces of wood art.  I created a board on Pinterest with all different kinds and I tried my hand at a piece a couple weeks ago.  Knowing I was decorating the  condo and knowing there was a ton of wall space, I figured it'd be a great guinea pig.  I saw this phot and knew I'd need to try something like this.   I think the black and white is what drew me to this one- because I can tell you it's not the burnt wood.  I actually am NOT a fan of burning wood.  I just don't like how it looks. But that's just me.  Anyway- I really liked it and thought it was something I thought I could build.  I figured I'd try!  Doesn't hurt to try, right?  What's the worst that could happen?  I'd have a fresh pile of wood for the fire pit?  So a couple of weeks ago I headed to Menard's to get some wood, paint, and stain.  I knew I wanted to add some green into it because I wanted green in the condo living room an

Mid Century Modern TV Stand

Well hey friends!  Have a quick and easy project that I knocked out after dinner on Friday night.  Yes, I  spent my Friday night in my garage building stuff.  I'm so popular.  So I told you last post about the condo.  Well now comes the decorating and buying pretty things part.  Believe me, I have found some seriously awesome scores for the living room.  Like- hit the jackpot. I had a pic of what the ideal living room would look like and I opened my Pinterest Living Room board and pinned a bunch of the exact style I was looking for.   Finding the decor seemed to be too easy.  But finding the furniture?  Not so much.  I wasn't trying to spend a fortune but Mid Century Modern isn't cheap and it's not that easy to find locally.  As I was looking at inspiration photos, I came across this.  I thought this would be perfect as a TV stand.  So I started searching more of this style.  Definitely looked like something that I could build.  Now I just needed to find the le

Evolution of Design Tastes

Happy Weekend!  It's snowing here so I'm just hanging out with the pups being lazy and scrolling through Pinterest.  I've not done any new projects but some pretty cool things are coming up on the horizon for the condo..... Very exciting times!  But that's a post for another day.  If you follow me on Pinterest, you've probably noticed that I've pinned a LOT lately.  I have the design bug.  I'm over my house.  I want a new house.  So I'm playing pretend design.  My style in here as I am looking around- most of it is from my apartment in Florida- over 10 years ago.  Now I've purchased and upgraded things but the concept is from then.  I've over aqua.  I know!  Crazy!  But it's like everywhere lately.  It's why I got rid of my blue mason jar lights that I made.  They were everywhere.  I don't want my house looking like everyone else's.  I also feel like I have grown in my design tastes.  I plan to get rid of a lot of things in my
