My Favorite Project Of All Time

Image
I have definitely hyped this project up, with my FB post yesterday and the title of this post.  But just wait.  You'll see why in a minute.  But first an explanation.   Guys- I was struggling.  I've already written about that.  But man, I really had a rough few months this summer.  I know EVERYONE had a rough few months.  I'm not alone in that.  But I really went through some bullshit, aside from dealing with the pandemic.  It sucked.   Queue my mother.  And her love of watching craft videos.  Where she saw a lady doing a paint by number.  Which prompted her to go to the website the crafty lady purchased her piece by.  Which then prompted her to upload a photo of my sweet pretty girl and order it for me.   About 6 weeks after she placed the order- and told me she bought me something then made me wait with no details, it arrived.  And I about died.  Like I hadn't already been doing enough crying those months, this made me cry again.  With tears of joy.  It was the most

My Updated (Again) Master Bathroom

Guys.  I know.  Updating rooms that have already been updated.  The problem is, I've run out of rooms.  And since a new house to play around with isn't happening any time soon, I guess this one must do.   So what started out as a simple vanity update..... you know me- I don't do simple.   A little over 3 years ago I re-did this bathroom.  I installed wood plank looking (vinyl) flooring, painted the vanity Misty Surf (which at the time was my favorite color), purchased two vanity mirrors to replace the huge boring builder grade mirror, and painted the walls a really dark (almost black) charcoal color.   It's a really small space so I was nervous about the wall color.  But my vanity top, tub, tile surround, and show stall are all bright white.  But three years has gone by and I'm bored with it.   Actually, if I'm honest, I never really loooooooved the mirrors.  If you remember the post from 3 years ago, I had a really difficult time finding mirrors locally and on

Scrap Wood Shoe Rack

Decided to finally get a project done that I've been thinking about for quite a while.  But it's not a cute or pretty or even all that great of a project.  So it's always been pushed back on the list of things to do since I won't really get major satisfaction over this one.  But........ now that I've finished it I do have a little bit of satisfaction.  After removing all of the bases from the master closet I piled them in the garage and let them sit there.  Today I unscrewed everything and put the wood into a pile.  I grabbed two boards that were the same height- about 4 ft- and gave them angled cuts on both the top and bottom.  This was really just to not have a sharp edge and make it a little more aesthetically pleasing.  Then I took the longest remaining board and cut it into 20" pieces and attached to the back side of the two tall boards.  The sides and the back pieces are all the same size- 1" by 4".  Then I grabbed a 1"
